Workshops

Kathrin Weber slated for 2025

Next year we will have Kathrin Weber for a three-day workshop February 10, 11, 12, 2025. She will be teaching non-traditional techniques in setup and designing at the reed while working effectively and efficiently with multiple warps and diverse warp elements. She will be bringing some of her hand dyed warps for us to work with and to purchase. Sign-up for this workshop will begin in September or October and the approximate cost will be $300. If you would like to learn more about  Kathrin you can see her work at www.blazingshuttles.com or at blazing shuttles on Facebook.

We have had a busy workshop year with 3 one-day workshops (unusual looms, shibori, fabric collage) and a 3-day workshop with Liz Spear (clothing design with your handwoven fabric). We plan to continue the one-day workshops again next year. If you have ideas or suggestions please send them to me at <kobos.rebecca@gmail.com>  Becky Kobos

Our 2024 workshop with Liz Spear

Mini workshops for 2023 – 24

Saori & Sakiori

November 3, 2023 a one day mini-workshop was presented by MWG members Becky Kobos & Robyn Becker. Small looms were supplied and a variety of weaving supplies. Members experimented with colors and textures.

Weaving on Unusual Looms

On January 3, 2024 our members had another chance to experiment. This mini-workshop offered instruction on weaving on circular shapes, rocks, shells and pouches on rectangular boards.

Fabric Collage

On March 1st, 2024 led by Becky Kobos, members created collaged fabric designs. Becky has been using this technique for years. She spent the day teaching us how to use our fabrics to create whimsical arrangements that we couuld quilt and frame.
